Finance Team Leader - Water & Environment (ANZ)

About the role

We are looking for a Finance Team Leader to join our ANZ finance team, supporting the Water & Environment business across Australia, New Zealand and the UK. Reporting to the ANZ Finance Manager, you will lead a group of finance professionals and provide high‑quality financial advice, project governance and performance reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of finance professionals delivering support to the Water & Environment business.
• Oversee project budgeting, planning and performance analysis for major projects and joint ventures.
• Manage project creation, ensure policy compliance, risk escalation and lock‑up documentation.
• Provide financial analysis, cost allocation, scenario modelling and commercial guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support financial audits, ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
• Deliver finance training, maintain system tools and respond to financial queries.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Finance or Commerce.
• 7+ years’ experience managing finance professionals in a corporate environment.
• Strong ability to build relationships across a culturally diverse, multi‑disciplinary organisation.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft applications.
• Experience with financial systems, particularly SAP.
• Advanced spreadsheet modelling, data analysis and reconciliation procedures.
