Tax Accountant

About the role

The Tax Accountant will analyse data related to tax compliance, provide tax advice to business stakeholders and support process improvements across Allianz Australia and New Zealand entities.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all direct and indirect tax reporting and regulatory obligations, including online submission of returns and approval of tax payments.
• Maintain accurate tax accounting data, perform reconciliations and meet annual reporting requirements.
• Drive process improvements to mitigate risks, streamline operations and enhance tax compliance.
• Proactively identify and manage tax risks within the established risk framework and support ad‑hoc testing.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and Chartered Accountant certification.
• Experience in commercial or chartered environments.
• High attention to detail with the ability to identify errors and ensure data accuracy.
• Proficiency in accounting systems, financial data management and technical reporting tools; SAP experience preferred.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret complex information and support decision‑making.
