Finance Officer

About the role

The Finance Officer will support an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service in Port Augusta, delivering high‑quality, culturally appropriate health services. The role involves day‑to‑day financial and administrative tasks, ensuring payroll, payments and cash handling are performed accurately and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Process payroll and manage cash floats, receipts, and banking transactions.
• Allocate incoming monies, place official orders, and maintain timely payment of supplies.
• Support the Patient Transport Scheme (PATS) and manage stationery and office supplies.
• Assist with motor vehicle fleet administration and maintenance of office machinery.
• Liaise with senior management, clinical leaders, accreditation bodies and funding agencies.

Required profile

• Experience in finance or administration within a non‑managerial role.
• Ability to work out‑of‑hours, travel interstate (including light‑aircraft travel) and hold a current driver’s licence.
• Fully vaccinated as required for health service environments.
• Clear communication skills with Aboriginal communities and ability to manage competing priorities.
