Finance Officer

About the role

The Finance Officer will join the Business Service team of South Australia Police, providing financial planning, reporting and control across multiple police portfolios. This full‑time, fixed‑term role supports the delivery of financial services, asset management and contract administration for the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse financial plans, budgets and strategic reports.
• Maintain treasury functions and oversee capital planning in collaboration with the Physical Asset Services Branch.
• Support accounting policy development, financial improvement initiatives and internal controls.
• Provide administrative and business support for special projects, reviews and procurement activities.
• Coordinate with Shared Services SA on payroll, accounts payable/receivable and taxation matters.

Required profile

• Current Australian work eligibility and willingness to undergo a criminal history check.
• Ability to work occasional out‑of‑hours and travel intra‑ or interstate as required.
• Participation in SAPOL’s iEngage program.
• Relevant finance or accounting qualifications and experience in a government or public‑sector environment.
