Finance Officer

About the role

The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority is seeking a Finance Officer to support the financial operations that underpin one of Australia’s most significant environmental initiatives. This customer‑focused role will deliver professional, high‑quality service within the Finance section and act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable, credit‑card transactions and related reconciliations.
• Provide procurement and contracting support, ensuring compliance with policies.
• Offer financial advice and assistance to stakeholders across the Authority.
• Conduct data analysis and maintain financial data management systems.
• Prepare and process financial documentation in line with APS standards.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in accounts payable, finance operations or procurement.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
• Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines and work reliably under pressure.
• Clear, professional communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
