Finance Manager

About the role

The Finance Manager will join Downer’s Energy & Utilities business within the Water Services team in Brisbane. Reporting to the General Manager Finance – Water, this senior finance leader will partner with operations to drive commercial outcomes across major water infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with operational leaders to deliver financial and commercial outcomes across projects and contracts.
• Lead forecasting, budgeting, month‑end reporting, project valuations and financial performance analysis.
• Manage working capital, optimise cash flow and ensure robust financial governance.
• Support contract reviews, bid preparation, strategic planning and business improvement initiatives.
• Lead, mentor and develop a high‑performing finance team, including succession planning.

Required profile

• Commercially minded finance professional with strong technical capability.
• Proven experience in finance leadership within infrastructure or utilities.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and ability to influence operational decisions.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering financial insights that improve project outcomes.
