Finance Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Manager to lead the finance function of a growing agricultural business in Melbourne. Reporting directly to the Director, you will act as a trusted adviser to the ownership group and have direct influence over strategic and commercial decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end finance function including reporting, forecasting and budgeting
• Manage cashflow, banking relationships, debt facilities and covenant reporting
• Deliver meaningful financial insights and analysis to support decision‑making
• Prepare board and management reporting packs
• Oversee statutory compliance, taxation, payroll and audit requirements
• Drive process improvement initiatives and strengthen financial controls
• Partner with operational stakeholders to improve commercial outcomes
• Develop robust budgeting, forecasting and long‑term planning frameworks
• Support strategic growth initiatives, projects and capital investment decisions
• Act as a trusted business partner to the leadership team

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified with proven finance leadership experience
• Experience owning a finance function within an SME, agribusiness, horticultural or asset‑intensive environment
• Strong capability across financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management
• Experience managing lender relationships and banking facilities
• Commercially minded with a genuine interest in understanding business operations
• Confident operating autonomously and taking ownership of outcomes
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build credibility across all levels
