Finance Manager – Commercial & Business Support

About the role

This permanent position is based in Millmerran, west of Toowoomba, supporting a large‑scale energy generation asset. You will lead a Business Support team, partner with engineering and operations, and provide commercial insight for budgeting, forecasting and contract performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Business Support function across the site.
• Manage and develop three direct reports in procurement/contracts, warehousing and office management.
• Partner with Engineering and Maintenance on outage planning and cost forecasting.
• Deliver annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and long‑term business planning.
• Analyse operational costs, identify trends and provide commercial recommendations.
• Support executive‑level reporting and financial performance analysis.
• Monitor major operational contracts and deliver performance insights.
• Collaborate with Brisbane‑based Finance and FP&A teams to improve forecasting accuracy.
• Drive continuous improvement of commercial processes and governance.
• Provide commercial leadership during periods of asset investment and maintenance.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Finance Manager, Commercial Finance, FP&A or Project Accountant.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial management capability.
• Background in heavy industry, energy, mining, maintenance or other asset‑intensive sectors.
• Commercial acumen with confidence to challenge and influence senior stakeholders.
• Advanced analytical and financial modelling skills.
• Experience leading and developing teams.
• Excellent communication skills.
