Finance Manager – 3 days/week in Sydney CBD

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Finance Manager to work three days a week in our central Sydney office. You will be the senior finance professional the Managing Director relies on for accurate numbers and will own the end‑to‑end finance function.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial control including month‑end close, cash flow management and monthly reporting.
• Prepare budgets, track actuals against forecasts and provide variance commentary for senior leadership.
• Produce monthly commission reports and manage the fortnightly pay cycle for 100+ contractors and contingent staff.
• Lodge payroll tax, BAS and coordinate external audits and government reporting across NSW, QLD and ACT.
• Manage insurances, WHS and workers compensation, and mentor the Accounts Assistant.
• Continuously improve finance processes and systems as the business evolves.

Required profile

• CPA or CA qualified.
• Hands‑on experience in a small to mid‑size business, not just oversight.
• Experience with contingent pay cycles, debtor finance or audit.
• Recruitment or labour‑hire background is a plus.

• MYOB.
• Exposure to Astute, JobAdder, Employment Hero and Dext.
