Finance Analyst

About the role

Veolia's transport business is hiring a Finance Analyst for its QLD Environmental Services commercial finance team. You will prepare and review financial and management reports, working closely with operational and finance leaders to deliver insights that improve performance and support strategic decisions. This is a permanent full-time role based in the Rocklea, Brisbane office, with occasional work from home.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver financial and management reports with operational business partners and the Finance Manager
• Analyse financial variances and understand the operational drivers behind performance
• Build and maintain commercial models and profitability reviews
• Lead the opex-to-capex transfers, ensuring project costs, internal labour and directly attributable expenses meet AASB 116 recognition criteria
• Own the annual budget process and ongoing forecasting
• Handle ad hoc accounting and finance tasks

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting/Finance or equivalent, with significant accounting experience
• Working towards completion of CA or CPA (or qualified)
• Demonstrated experience in an accounting or financial analyst role in a high-volume, complex business
• Audit experience desirable; logistics or waste industry experience beneficial but not essential
