Finance Analyst

About the role

Join Universal Music Australia as a Finance Analyst and work at the intersection of finance and music. You will partner with Labels, Brands, Sync, and Recording Studios to turn numbers into actionable insights that shape decisions across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Own budgeting and forecasting, loading and consolidating forecast and budget income and margins.
• Prepare internal finance packs, monthly management reporting and quarterly artist P&L statements.
• Analyse project profitability for Brands and provide commercial insights.
• Collaborate with Sync, Management Commission and Recording Studios to analyse profitability, rolling forecasts and revenue pipelines.
• Monitor spend against budget, review overheads and report on A&R expenditures per label.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in management accounting, reporting and commercial analysis.
• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Strong organisational skills, meticulous attention to detail and excellent communication abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with creative teams and senior leaders.
• Genuine interest in the music or entertainment industry.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel
• Experience with ERP systems
• Exposure to SAP, BPC, Power BI, HFM or Business Objects
