Fieldwork Manager - Soil Remediation

About the role

A well-established environmental consultancy is seeking an experienced Fieldwork Manager to lead soil, water and hazardous materials sampling initiatives for contaminated land remediation. The role involves leading complex site remediation with hands-on fieldwork and team leadership in the southern Melbourne suburbs, on a long-term, high-profile project with immediate start.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage soil, water and hazardous materials sampling programs on active remediation sites
• Supervise and coordinate environmental field teams to ensure safety and quality compliance
• Manage contractors and consultants across multiple work fronts to meet project timelines and quality objectives
• Carry out hands-on field sampling of complex contamination, including asbestos, emerging contaminants and hydrocarbons
• Maintain clear communication with clients, regulators and other stakeholders
• Support validation and remediation processes and ensure safety protocols, QA measures and documentation standards are followed

Required profile

• At least 4 years' experience in environmental consulting, specialising in contaminated land and field sampling
• Proven ability to manage field teams, contractors and site operations
• Excellent communication for engaging stakeholders on complex projects
• Permanent residency; sponsorship or work visas are not available
