Field Services Specialist - Mining OHV Electric Drive Systems

About the role

Wabtec is hiring a Field Services Specialist for its Equipment OEM system and services team, based in Brisbane, QLD. The role provides field service, product technical support, fleet performance monitoring and commissioning of Mining Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) electric drive systems for the region, and works with peers in other regions. It is a permanent full-time position.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, prioritise and escalate issues and customer requests for the region, and build a customer service excellence culture
• Support overall truck commissioning for the region, and troubleshoot on site and remotely
• Act as the service support point of contact for distributors and mines using Wabtec drive systems
• Report and escalate product quality and warranty claims, and attend internal and external meetings
• Prepare reports, presentations and documents, and support OEM and distributor activity in the region
• Support field tests for new product development and share performance and sales opportunities with the Support Team
• Educate customers on troubleshooting, manuals, parts books and upgrades

Required profile

• Certificate III in Electrotechnology or equivalent, with a current NSW, QLD and WA electrical licence (or willingness to obtain it)
• 5 years' post-trade service experience, preferably in mining, rail, marine, defence or automotive
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time to QLD, NSW and WA sites for 2 to 3 weeks at a time, twice a year maximum
• Current C class driver's licence and working rights in Australia (no visa sponsorship)
• Background and criminal history check required

Required skills

• Knowledge of electric drive/traction systems in surface mining or rail is highly regarded
• Experience with mining equipment design and validation, and multi-location teams
• Strong technical aptitude, including engineering tools and software
• Strong oral, written, interpersonal and leadership skills
