Field Services Labourer

About the role

Mackay Regional Council is looking for a motivated Field Services Labourer to support the construction, maintenance and repair of council infrastructure. This hands‑on role involves working outdoors on roads, drainage and other civil projects, ensuring safe and reliable services for the community.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with civil construction and maintenance activities, including roads and drainage works.
• Operate hand tools, small plant and equipment in line with safety procedures.
• Perform general labouring duties and manual handling tasks.
• Maintain worksites in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
• Comply with council policies, procedures and workplace health and safety requirements.

Required profile

• Reliable, motivated team member who enjoys outdoor, hands‑on work.
• Commitment to safety and ability to follow instructions.
• Physical capability to work in outdoor conditions.
• Valid Construction Industry White Card.
• Current Class C driver licence.

Required skills

• Operation of hand tools.
• Operation of small plant and equipment.
