Field Service Technician - Mining Equipment

About the role

Komatsu Australia is hiring a qualified Field Service Technician for its Customer Support team in Kalgoorlie. You will deliver maintenance, diagnostics and repair services on Komatsu equipment at customer sites across the region. This is a hands-on role based at Sunrise Dam, on a FIFO 2:1 roster from Perth, and candidates must currently live in Perth.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
• Perform scheduled servicing, maintenance and component replacements
• Test and adjust machine operating and monitoring systems
• Complete accurate service documentation and technical reports
• Coordinate and support site-based maintenance activities
• Provide customer service and technical support, working with customers and internal teams to keep equipment reliable and running
• Maintain the highest standards of safety, quality and workmanship

Required profile

• Trade qualification as a Plant Mechanic or equivalent heavy diesel qualification
• Experience servicing and repairing mobile mining, construction or heavy equipment
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Commitment to working safely in a field service environment
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
• Strong communication and customer relationship skills
• Minimum MR Driver's Licence; High Risk Work Licence desirable

Required skills

• Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
• Heavy diesel and mobile equipment maintenance and diagnostics
