Field Service Team Lead - Collins Class Submarines

About the role

An experienced Field Service Team Lead is sought for the Scylla Maintenance Team, working on Collins Class Submarines. Based at the Rockingham site, the role oversees maintenance, repair and operational activities across dedicated customer sites and Royal Australian Navy (RAN) platforms, and supports the Ship Repair Services domain with electronics and weapons systems maintenance across Western Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Lead maintenance and repair activities on Collins Class Submarines
• Deliver engineering tasks safely, efficiently and on schedule
• Enforce RAN military protocols and workplace safety mandates
• Act as the primary escalation point for field issues
• Review technical documentation to optimise future maintenance planning
• Mentor the team through hands-on, on-the-job training
• Report operational status, emerging risks and defects to management
• Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture
• Support delegated management tasks, resource allocation and customer meetings
• Support inventory logistics and drive LEAN continuous improvement

Required profile

• Electronic/Electrical Engineering Diploma or an electrical trade with relevant experience
• Australian citizenship and eligibility for the required security clearance
• Supervision and leadership experience of maintenance in local and remote locations
• Experience in fault diagnosis, repair and maintenance of complex equipment and systems
• Proven track record in quality assurance
• Pre-employment police and, where applicable, medical checks; foreign government clearances may sometimes be recognised
