Field Service Engineer – Cardiac Ablation & Surgical Robotics

About the role

Medtronic is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support Cardiac Ablation Solutions (CAS) Affera™ platforms and Surgical Robotics systems across Western and South Australia. The role is field‑based, requiring travel to hospitals and clinics to ensure equipment reliability and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, upgrades, and corrective repairs on CAS Affera™ and Surgical Robotics equipment.
• Install, commission, validate, and de‑commission capital medical devices at customer sites.
• Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, mechanical, software, and biomedical issues to minimise downtime.
• Provide on‑site technical support to clinicians, biomedical engineers, and hospital staff.
• Maintain accurate service documentation, maintenance records, and quality system requirements.
• Collaborate with Technical Service, Quality, Engineering, Commercial, and Customer Care teams on product performance and feedback.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Biomedical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronics) with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or a diploma with 4 years of experience supporting capital medical equipment.
• Valid driver's licence and ability to travel approximately 30 % across Western Australia and South Australia.
• Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electronic, electromechanical, or biomedical equipment.
• Ability to maintain accurate technical records and comply with quality and regulatory requirements.
