Field Engineer – Mechanical

About the role

Bechtel is seeking a Mechanical Field Engineer to support the Eva Copper Mine Project in Cloncurry, Queensland. The role involves delivering field‑engineering expertise across planning, material management, safety, quality and subcontract coordination for this large EPC undertaking.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist knowledge in mechanical disciplines such as HVAC, fire detection & suppression, special coating systems, tunnel boring, site de‑watering, glove boxes and related processes.
• Prepare and review construction drawings, sketches and temporary‑construction designs.
• Manage material inventories, verify quantities and ensure accurate packaging of work packages.
• Conduct technical inspections, testing and quality‑control activities on‑site.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to align work with project safety and quality standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in field engineering within construction or mining projects.
• Strong understanding of safety and quality control procedures.
• Ability to interpret and produce construction documentation.
• Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
