Field Electrician - 8/6 FIFO

About the role

Orica is seeking an experienced Field Electrician to join its Asset team, supporting manufacturing facilities, mobile equipment, SMC and mining operations across Western Australia and South Australia on an 8/6 FIFO roster. This is a hands-on role covering maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical systems on fixed plant, mobile manufacturing units (MMUs) and site infrastructure, with work on both high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) systems.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, service and repair plant equipment such as augers, compressors, electrical control systems, MMUs and associated assets
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults using specialised testing and diagnostic equipment
• Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on HV and LV electrical systems
• Support commissioning, equipment upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives
• Travel to manufacturing facilities and mine sites to provide technical support, troubleshooting and maintenance
• Inspect and test to ensure compliance with standards, regulations and safety requirements
• Work with operations and maintenance teams to maximise equipment reliability and performance

Required profile

• Electrical Trade Qualification and a current unrestricted Electrical License
• Experience with HV and/or LV electrical systems in industrial environments
• Demonstrated experience in electrical maintenance, fault-finding and troubleshooting
• Exposure to manufacturing, mining, heavy industry, processing plants, mobile equipment or similar environments
• Current driver's licence and willingness to travel to regional and remote locations
• Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices
