Fellowed GP - Rural Health Group

About the role

Rural Health Group is a not-for-profit organisation focused on strengthening healthcare access in rural communities, working to bridge healthcare gaps so rural populations receive high-quality, patient-centred care. It is recruiting a full-time, on-site Fellowed General Practitioner (GP) for its Biloela, Queensland site. The role is for Fellows committed to delivering comprehensive primary care to rural populations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide patient consultations and diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions
• Coordinate ongoing care and promote preventive health measures
• Work closely with nursing and allied health professionals and take part in multidisciplinary case discussions
• Contribute to clinical governance activities
• Support training and supervision of junior clinicians where appropriate
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold evidence-based practice and quality standards
• Develop long-term patient relationships and contribute to the health and wellbeing of the Biloela community

Required profile

• Clinical expertise in Medicine and Primary Care, with experience managing a broad range of presentations in general practice
• Background in Family Medicine and nursing collaboration, enabling team-based, holistic patient care
• Current fellowship with a recognised general practice college (e.g. RACGP or ACRRM) and valid AHPRA registration
• Demonstrated experience or strong interest in rural or regional healthcare settings
• Excellent communication, cultural competence and interpersonal skills for working with diverse community members
• Ability to work autonomously and within multidisciplinary teams, with sound clinical judgment

Required skills

• Basic proficiency with electronic medical records and digital health tools
• Willingness to adapt to new clinical technologies
• Commitment to training, mentoring emerging clinicians and continuing education
