Fashion Designer

Job description
About the role
MESHKI, a fashion brand focused on empowerment, inclusivity and sustainability, is looking for a Fashion Designer who can turn emerging trends into products quickly. The role suits a commercially minded, adaptable designer who moves from concept to final product with speed, accuracy and a strong eye for what customers want now. You will design across a broad mix of categories, balancing trend-led and core commercial styles.
Key responsibilities
- Design from initial concept to final product, covering entry through exit price points
- Respond quickly to trends, social and influencer movements and sell-through performance, turning insights into reactive styles and chase opportunities
- Develop mood boards, colour palettes, sketches and silhouettes that suit diverse body shapes
- Conduct trend and market research, including social media, street style, store visits, consumer behaviour and competitors
- Create accurate tech packs and work with Garment Tech so designs meet quality standards on time and on budget
- Lead fittings and make quick adjustments to fit, finish and construction
- Select fabrics and materials with a focus on cost, availability, suitability and speed to market, championing preferred fibres and lower-impact alternatives
- Collaborate with Buying, Merchandising, Garment Tech and Marketing on range architecture and drop schedules
- Review weekly sell-through data and use commercial insight to inform repeats, reworks and future designs
- Support and guide a Design Assistant within your POD, giving regular feedback
Required profile
- 3+ years of fashion design experience, ideally in a fast-paced, trend-driven or DTC environment
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field
- Strong portfolio showing commercial, trend-led design capability, including CAD examples and resort or warm-weather product
- Comfortable working to short lead times, shifting priorities and handling multiple drops at once
- Excellent verbal and written communication and a collaborative approach
- Strong attention to detail on quality and fit, even at pace
Required skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop)
- CAD software and other design tools
- Solid knowledge of garment construction and fabric properties
- Commercial instinct to turn trends into best-selling product quickly
What we offer
- Employee discount and monthly clothing allowance
- Bi-weekly breakfasts, access to thrive days and monthly culture incentives
- MESHKI wellness program and flexible working arrangements
- Training programs, workshops, global conferences, free access to Headspace and Masterclass
- Clear career advancement pathways
