External Claims Adjuster – Port Lincoln (Bonus & Car Allowance)

About the role

Make a real difference in the Port Lincoln community by managing commercial and domestic property claims from first advice through to final settlement. You will work autonomously on a regional portfolio while receiving strong team support.

Key responsibilities

• Manage claims from initial notification through to settlement, including inspecting damage and investigating causes.
• Review policies, claim documentation and evidence to determine coverage.
• Coordinate trades, service providers and technical specialists.
• Set reserves, manage costs and make settlement recommendations.
• Prepare clear, professional reports and maintain accurate claim records.
• Deliver strong customer outcomes while meeting compliance, KPI and service standards.

Required profile

• Experience in loss adjusting, insurance claims, property, building, construction or related trades.
• Confidence investigating issues, managing stakeholders and making sound decisions.
• Ability to communicate with empathy and professionalism.
• Capability to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Curiosity, resilience and motivation to develop claims expertise.

Required skills

• Basic business accounting procedures.
• Knowledge of insurance terminology, practices and policy conditions.
