Estimator / Senior Estimator

About the role

Ivory Group recruits Estimators and Senior Estimators for established Sydney construction businesses that deliver commercial fitout, refurbishment and building projects. The role centres on preparing accurate cost estimates and competitive tenders, working with subcontractors, suppliers and internal project teams so that tenders are commercially sound, well coordinated and submitted on time. Depending on experience, the position ranges from hands-on estimating to senior roles with greater tender ownership, subcontractor negotiations and pre-construction strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and competitive tenders
• Review construction drawings, specifications and scope documentation
• Complete quantity take-offs and cost analysis
• Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Identify commercial risks, cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options
• Coordinate tender submissions and liaise with internal and external stakeholders

Required profile

• Previous estimating experience within the construction industry
• Experience across commercial fitout, refurbishment or other relevant commercial building projects
• Strong understanding of construction costs, methodologies and subcontractor pricing
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Experience using relevant estimating software
• Strong commercial awareness, attention to detail and communication skills
