ESD / Sustainability Engineer

About the role

An established multi-disciplinary building services consultancy with offices across the east coast is looking for an ESD Engineer in Sydney. Sustainability sits at the heart of the business, with a dedicated ESD team working alongside mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire and BIM specialists. The role suits someone passionate about sustainable outcomes who wants to give strategic advice to clients and make a real impact on project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct JV3 energy modelling assessments using IES-VE
• Collaborate with architects, services engineers and clients to align project outcomes
• Undertake energy and daylight modelling to support Green Star submissions
• Provide strategic advice and prepare clear, well-considered reports and documentation
• Prepare Section J compliance assessments

Required profile

• Degree in Building Services, Architecture, Sustainability, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline
• Proven experience in a similar role working on Australian projects
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence communicating with clients
• A proactive, detail-focused approach and the ability to manage your own workload

Required skills

• Hands-on experience in modelling software such as IES-VE or similar
• Energy and daylight modelling
• Green Star and Section J compliance
