Equipment Operator – Surface Operations

About the role

Glencore Mount Isa Mines is looking for a safety‑focused Equipment Operator to join the Isa Surface Operations team. The role involves bulk material handling and road maintenance across the mine lease, working on a rotating roster of 12‑hour shifts in a residential setting.

Key responsibilities

• Operate dump trucks, water carts and loaders safely and efficiently.
• Promote a culture of safety, operational excellence and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with other departments, contractors and teams to meet production targets safely.
• Conduct thorough pre‑start inspections and monitor equipment condition.
• Maintain high safety standards in all work activities and report any issues.

Required profile

• Current, valid Australian manual driver’s licence.
• Demonstrated experience operating dump trucks and water carts (essential).
• Loader operating experience (highly regarded).
• Strong time‑management, organisational and communication skills.
• Flexible attitude, strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Willingness to complete a pre‑employment medical assessment and drug & alcohol screening.
