Entry Buyer - Sports

About the role

The Iconic is looking for an Entry Buyer – Sports to support the growth of its sports and activewear categories. You will help shape the assortment, monitor inventory and work closely with vendors to deliver a compelling product range for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Support department strategy, vision and budget planning.
• Conduct market research and stay up‑to‑date with the latest e‑commerce and sports trends.
• Monitor inventory levels to maintain adequate stock.
• Evaluate vendor performance and assist with selection, deactivation or exit processes.
• Negotiate favourable terms and conditions for both commission‑based and wholesale vendors.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and industry regulations.
• Identify emerging trends and source new products that resonate with customers.
• Maintain accurate vendor records, including brand plans and SKU lists.
• Collaborate with marketing on go‑to‑market and promotional opportunities.
• Develop and implement strategic road‑maps aligned with commercial strategies and customer demographics.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Junior Buyer or Assistant Buyer in a high‑volume business.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities.
• Proficient in Excel reporting, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
• Excellent communication, time‑management and teamwork skills.
• A genuine passion for sports, fitness and activewear.
