Job description
About the role
IAG, the largest general insurance group in Australia and New Zealand, is looking for an Enterprise Cyber Security Architect to shape the future of its cyber security architecture. You will define the strategic direction for cloud and infrastructure security, set target-state architectures and multi-year roadmaps, and work across architecture, engineering and operational teams so that security decisions are practical and supportable. The role is permanent and full-time, based in Darling Park 2, Sydney or Melbourne.
Key responsibilities
- Define cyber security architecture strategy, target states and multi-year roadmaps across cloud and infrastructure security.
- Guide major transformation programs by giving strategic architecture direction to delivery, engineering and operational teams.
- Partner with enterprise architects, engineering teams and business stakeholders to align security outcomes with organisational goals.
- Identify cyber security risks, control gaps and technical debt, and recommend practical solutions.
- Influence architecture and technology decisions by balancing security, resilience, customer experience, cost and supportability.
- Establish reusable architecture patterns, principles and standards that enable secure-by-design and secure-by-default practices.
Required profile
- Experience leading cyber security architecture in large, complex enterprise environments, with hands-on experience delivering, operating or supporting security and technology platforms.
- Ability to develop architecture strategies, roadmaps and target-state technology directions.
- Confidence engaging senior stakeholders and influencing decisions without direct authority.
- Strong judgement balancing cyber risk, business priorities and operational realities.
- Experience in regulated industries such as financial services, insurance or similar is valued; prior engineering, infrastructure, cloud, security operations or platform delivery experience is highly regarded.
Required skills
- Cloud security, infrastructure, identity, networks and Zero Trust principles, with a practical understanding of how they are implemented in production.
- Architecture strategy and roadmap development.
What we offer

- 20 days annual leave plus 5 extra days of MyLeave.
- Up to 50% off personal insurance, including home and motor, and partner discounts on private health insurance, tech and appliances.
- 20 weeks of paid parental leave.
