Enrolled Nurse - Surgical Ward 1

About the role

Albury Wodonga Health, the largest regional health service between Sydney and Melbourne, is recruiting Enrolled Nurses for its Surgical Ward 1. The ward is a 23-bed unit providing pre- and post-operative care for elective and emergency surgical and trauma patients, with specialties in orthopaedics, plastics and general surgery. The role is open to permanent and fixed-term positions.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver safe, person-centred nursing care under the direction and delegation of a Registered Nurse
• Monitor and observe patients before and after surgery and provide routine clinical care
• Assist with IV therapy under approved medication endorsement (if applicable)
• Support wound care, dressing changes and patient comfort measures
• Keep timely and accurate records
• Work within a multidisciplinary team to support each patient's recovery and care plan

Required profile

• Strong interest or experience in surgical nursing
• Sound clinical assessment and observation skills
• Collaborative approach and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
• Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families and staff
• Commitment to professional growth and person-centred care
