Enrolled Nurse - Nurse Bank

About the role

Calvary Mater Newcastle is recruiting an Enrolled Nurse (Medication Endorsed) for its Nurse Bank. The role is permanent and can be full-time, part-time or casual, with shifts equivalent to your contracted hours and allocation across various wards. It suits someone who wants to develop clinical expertise in a diverse public hospital while choosing when they work. Salary classification is Enrolled Nurse Year 1-5, at $37.83-$41.11 per hour plus superannuation, annual leave loading and salary packaging options.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective and appropriate person-centred nursing care across Calvary Newcastle's wards and care areas as part of the Nurse Bank pool
• Administer medications and treatments within your scope of practice under the direction of Registered Nurses
• Document patient observations and care plans accurately, supporting safe clinical handover
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support continuity of care for patients and residents

Required profile

• AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse - Medication Endorsed with current Authority to Practice
• At least 6 months of demonstrated clinical experience in an acute care and/or hospital setting
• Ability to work unsupervised, proficiently and in an organised way during periods of high demand
• Communication, interpersonal and customer service skills, and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to personal and professional development
• Unlimited working rights in Australia; completion of pre-employment checks (references, work rights, criminal history, WWCC); evidence of immunisation as required for a Category A role
