Engineering Supervisor – Fitzroy Campus

About the role

St Vincent's Private Hospital Melbourne is seeking an experienced Engineering Supervisor to lead the daily operation, maintenance and compliance of critical engineering and building services infrastructure across its Fitzroy Campus. Reporting to the State Engineering Supervisor, you will oversee maintenance activities, contractor management, asset reliability and engineering compliance within the Property & Infrastructure team. The position is full time and permanent.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily engineering and maintenance activities across the campus
• Supervise engineering trades, maintenance staff and external contractors
• Ensure preventative maintenance programs are completed effectively
• Monitor and optimise BMS, HVAC, mechanical, electrical and fire systems
• Respond to engineering incidents and service interruptions
• Inspect plant and infrastructure assets and manage contractor inductions, safety compliance and performance
• Support minor capital works and infrastructure projects
• Maintain statutory compliance records and participate in emergency response
• Improve asset reliability and energy efficiency, and prepare operational and compliance reports

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience supervising maintenance and engineering services in healthcare, facilities management or other critical infrastructure
• Experience managing contractors and service providers
• Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance and asset management
• Sound technical understanding of HVAC, mechanical, electrical and essential services infrastructure
• Understanding of WHS and compliance requirements
• Desirable: healthcare facilities maintenance experience, knowledge of Australian healthcare accreditation standards, trade qualification in electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, air conditioning, plumbing or building services

• Desirable: Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
