Engineering Manager

About the role

IFF, a global leader in flavors, fragrances, food ingredients and health & biosciences, is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead its Melbourne site. This onsite role will drive engineering excellence, continuous improvement and sustainable innovation across the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the engineering team, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Manage CAPEX and OPEX project portfolios from planning through commissioning.
• Provide technical leadership and support engineering decision‑making.
• Drive continuous improvement, innovation and asset optimisation initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety requirements and regulatory obligations.
• Lead risk assessments, Management of Change (MOC) and process safety activities.
• Develop site engineering strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, EHS, Procurement, Finance and external partners to deliver sustainable results.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Proven leadership experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Strong project management and capital investment experience.
• Solid understanding of engineering standards, process safety and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and problem‑solving skills.
