Engineering Logistics Manager – Global Operations

About the role

Qantas is seeking an Engineering Logistics Manager to lead end‑to‑end global logistics operations that directly affect aircraft availability and operational continuity. This 12‑month fixed‑term position is based in Sydney and will oversee a $50 million logistics spend across a highly regulated aviation environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead global logistics and freight networks to ensure on‑time delivery and supply continuity for Qantas Engineering.
• Manage approximately $50 million in logistics spend, driving cost optimisation and commercial outcomes.
• Own regulatory compliance across customs, aviation security, dangerous goods and Chain of Responsibility frameworks.
• Develop and execute supplier strategy, monitoring performance of external logistics providers.
• Drive transformation initiatives, including system integration and process improvement programmes.
• Build and develop a high‑performing logistics, compliance and analytics team.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in logistics, financial control and freight operations within a complex, regulated environment.
• Strong commercial acumen with proven budget and supplier‑performance management.
• Deep knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as customs, hazardous materials and transport compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to lead transformation projects and influence cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Data‑driven analytical approach to decision‑making and continuous improvement.
• Leadership experience focused on building team capability.
