Employee Relations Specialist – Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane

About the role

The Employee Relations Specialist will join ANZ’s Employee Relations, Wellbeing and Safety function, supporting line managers and employees across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. You will manage a portfolio of complex employee relations cases and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct workplace investigations and resolve employee grievances.
• Manage misconduct processes and support line managers with disciplinary actions.
• Provide high‑quality ER advice on complex policy and employee issues.
• Support colleagues to deliver fair outcomes and meet team deliverables.
• Drive continuous improvement of ER processes and contribute to function initiatives.
• Build collaborative relationships with Talent & Culture, ANZ Group stakeholders and other internal partners.

Required profile

• Experience in an advisory role with specialist Employee Relations knowledge or practising employment law.
• Strong judgement and commercial acumen to deliver practical, risk‑aware advice.
• Ability to manage a high volume of ER cases autonomously and efficiently.
• Excellent influencing, negotiation, coaching and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Deep understanding of employee misconduct, terminations, performance management, health, harassment, bullying and related matters.
