Emergency Medicine Registrar / Senior Medical Officer

About the role

Central Gippsland Health is looking for an experienced Emergency Medicine Registrar or Senior Medical Officer to join its busy Emergency Department in Sale, Victoria. The role offers the chance to deliver high‑quality acute care in a regional hospital serving the Wellington Shire and surrounding communities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide evidence‑based emergency medical care to a diverse patient population.
• Lead, mentor and supervise junior medical officers, students and trainees.
• Participate in credentialed clinical procedures and resuscitations.
• Support senior management in prioritising patient care and departmental improvement.
• Contribute to teaching activities in partnership with Monash University’s School of Rural Health.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent qualification.
• Eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (general, provisional or limited).
• Minimum five years postgraduate experience, preferably in emergency medicine.
• Demonstrated experience teaching or supervising junior staff.
• Desire to work in a multidisciplinary, rural health environment.
