Emergency Medicine Physician

About the role

The Emergency Medicine Physician will deliver timely assessment, diagnosis and management of patients presenting with acute and urgent medical conditions at WiSE Plus Norwest Private Hospital. The role combines on‑site clinical duties with remote telehealth consultations and administrative work.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct clinical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and initiate appropriate treatment plans.
• Stabilise critically ill or injured patients, manage trauma and complex emergencies, and ensure safe handover and documentation.
• Coordinate care with nursing, allied health and specialty teams, and supervise junior medical staff as required.
• Participate in quality and safety initiatives and contribute to clinical decision‑making.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in Emergency Medicine and a strong foundation in General Medicine.
• Experience in Emergency Services and Urgent Care, including triage, rapid response and time‑critical case management.
• Current medical registration with relevant specialist qualifications (e.g., fellowship in Emergency Medicine).
• Commitment to evidence‑based practice, clinical governance and ongoing professional development.

Required skills

• Advanced Life Support certification and other emergency‑related courses.
• Critical Care Medicine competence, including advanced life support protocols.
• Proficiency in telehealth platforms for remote consultations.
