Emergency Medicine Consultant – Regional Hospital

About the role

Sante Recruitment is seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Consultant to join a leading regional referral hospital in coastal Queensland. The role offers the chance to work in a modern, expanding Emergency Department while enjoying a high‑quality coastal lifestyle.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist emergency care for a wide range of adult and paediatric presentations.
• Lead assessment and management of critically ill and injured patients.
• Supervise Registrars, Resident Medical Officers and medical students.
• Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
• Contribute to education, simulation training and departmental teaching programmes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the hospital.
• Take part in the on‑call roster as required.

Required profile

• Australian‑trained FACEM or International Medical Graduate progressing through the ACEM Specialist Pathway.
• Demonstrated experience in emergency medicine with exposure to both adult and paediatric care.
• Commitment to teaching, research and continuous improvement.
• Ability to work autonomously within a supportive, team‑oriented environment.
