Electrical/Electronic Engineer - Product Development

About the role

Orica is hiring an Electrical/Electronic Engineer in Product Development to support the design, development, testing and integration of electrical and electronic systems for GroundProbe's monitoring solutions. You will work in a multidisciplinary engineering team on new product development, validation, troubleshooting, product sustainment and continuous improvement, supporting products used by customers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design and update PCB layouts, electrical schematics and system diagrams using engineering design tools.
• Assist in prototype assembly, system integration and product testing.
• Work with suppliers and internal teams to support testing, validation and delivery.
• Create and maintain technical documentation such as BOMs, drawings, assembly instructions and test procedures.
• Provide technical support for production, field deployments and customer investigations.
• Support product verification and validation, including test planning, execution and analysis.
• Report project progress, keep documentation up to date and flag technical or safety risks.
• Resolve complex product issues with support, production and business teams.
• Ensure compliance with WHS policies and embed safety into engineering designs.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in electrical/electronic engineering or a related discipline (preferred).
• At least 2 years' experience in electrical/electronic engineering, ideally in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience supporting projects through the full product lifecycle.
• Experience with risk assessments, design reviews and continuous improvement.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams; Brisbane-based or willing to relocate.

Required skills

• Altium Designer, including PCB design, drafting and documentation.
• Adherence to engineering workflows and standards.
