Electrical Technician – Fire Protection

About the role

Chubb Fire & Security Australia is seeking qualified/licensed electricians to join our fire protection team in Sydney. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and testing of fire detection and emergency lighting systems for both existing and new customers.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with Chubb staff, customers and clients to provide technical support and administration.
• Mentor and assist team members to meet client needs.
• Ensure safe completion of jobs and proper safety paperwork.
• Coordinate day‑to‑day team operations.
• Install, modify, commission and repair fire detection, warning systems, smoke alarms and emergency/exit lights.
• Inspect and test fire systems in accordance with AS 1851.
• Identify and follow up on opportunities to grow the customer base.
• Provide recommendations on fire protection systems and equipment.

Required profile

• Experience as an Electrical Technician, preferably in the fire industry.
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
• Current Electrical Licence (mandatory).
• Current Driver’s Licence (mandatory).
• Ability to undergo pre‑employment medical and police checks.
• Strong work ethic, reliability and customer‑facing experience.

Required skills

• Installation, modification, commissioning and repair of fire detection and warning systems.
• Inspection and testing of smoke alarms and emergency/exit lights per AS 1851.
• Current Cabling Licence (ideal) and Electrical Trade Qualification (ideal).
• Knowledge of fire protection equipment and systems.
