Electrical Technical Officer/Designer

About the role

Join Egis Group’s Distribution Design team to deliver detailed design and documentation for energy sector projects, focusing on overhead and underground lines for Victorian electricity networks.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake design and drafting quality assurance reviews and approve standard designs.
• Manage small to medium‑scale projects or phases of larger projects, including resource planning and financial performance.
• Produce tender and design documentation, specifications and project deliverables within agreed timeframes and budgets.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor junior staff and act as project liaison.
• Develop and maintain client relationships, contribute to bids/tenders and support Safety in Design workshops.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in overhead lines survey, design and drafting.
• Knowledge of Victorian distribution network and utility standards (AusNet, United Energy, CitiPower, Powercor, Jemena).
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with overhead lines design software nPoles and Neara.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
