Electrical Project Manager - 18-Month Contract

About the role

An 18-month contract to run a portfolio of electrical upgrade projects for a major energy client in Central Queensland. The previous Project Manager retired after 10 years in the role. The role is based in Rockhampton, on site, with a Tuesday to Friday pattern and 36.25 hours a week, starting in January or February 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Manage around six electrical projects at once, each worth $200k to $2M, on critical operating plant.
• Scope, tender and manage turnkey design-and-install contractors through to completion.
• Plan and deliver most of the work inside major outage windows.
• Upcoming projects include switchboard protection upgrades, emergency diesel generators and fire system work.
• Report to the Electrical Superintendent and work alongside a small electrical, instrumentation and control team.

Required profile

• Electrical engineering degree, or an electrical licence backed by strong project management experience.
• Current or recent brownfield project delivery in power, mining, sugar, mineral processing or other heavy industry.
• Experience running multiple projects and contractors through shutdowns or outages.
• A self-starter who owns their projects and can drive them without a large team behind them.
• Based in Rockhampton or willing to relocate (no relocation assistance).
