Electrical Applications & Controls Engineer

About the role

As an Electrical Applications & Controls Engineer you will provide technical expertise across Pixii’s Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, from pre‑sales through to commissioning. You will review tender specifications, prepare technical response documentation, develop electrical and system drawings, and configure control and software parameters to meet customer requirements. Working closely with Sales and Project Delivery you will ensure customer requirements are technically sound, compliant, and delivered successfully.

Key responsibilities

• Support projects from tendering through to commissioning, coordinating with internal stakeholders.
• Design electrical systems and control solutions in line with industry standards and client specifications.
• Review tender specifications and prepare technical responses, compliance statements, and deviation reports.
• Develop single‑line diagrams (SLDs), electrical wiring diagrams, and general arrangement (GA) drawings.
• Produce control philosophies, protection studies, and system configuration documentation.
• Develop testing and commissioning plans and lead FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities.
• Configure Pixii BESS control systems to customer requirements, including third‑party device integration for microgrid applications.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering; RPEQ, CPEng, or Engineers Australia membership eligibility highly regarded.
• Experience in electrical or power systems engineering, ideally in project‑based delivery.
• Ability to produce electrical schematics, SLDs, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with PLC control systems or software configuration.
• Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
• High competency with Microsoft Office 365.

• Knowledge of Australian electrical standards (AS3000, AS5139, AS4777).
