EL1 Intranet Content Manager

About the role

A federal government organisation based in New Acton is looking for an EL1 Intranet Content Manager through its recruiter, Ignite. The role sits in a communications team supporting staff across the organisation, covering internal communications, intranet content, communication strategies, digital content and other communication services. It is a 12-month position offered on a non-ongoing basis; candidates seeking a Section 26 transfer are also encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate support for intranet content across the organisation.
• Maintain the structure and organisation of intranet information so it is easy to find and use.
• Advise content authors on writing, formatting and presenting information clearly and accessibly.
• Develop and maintain intranet standards, policies and best-practice guidelines.
• Work with stakeholders and technical support teams to meet business needs and deliver a consistent user experience.
• Develop and improve the intranet content strategy and governance processes.
• Coordinate regular reviews of intranet content to keep information accurate and relevant.
• Deliver training, resources and support to content authors, users and administrators.
• Maintain approved corporate document templates, including Word and PowerPoint templates.
• Write, edit and publish intranet content as required.

Required profile

• An existing Baseline security clearance.
• Willingness to accept a non-ongoing engagement; Section 26 transfers accepted.
• Experience leading or managing intranet content and support services.
• Experience creating, publishing and maintaining online content.
• Strong writing and editing skills, producing clear, plain-English content accessible to all users.
• Ability to tailor messages for different audiences.
