Early Childhood Teacher

About the role

St Nicholas Early Education is expanding its licensed capacity in Maitland and is looking for a passionate Early Childhood Teacher to join its new space on a permanent full-time basis. The service partners with families to help children develop the skills to flourish at home, in care and in communities.

Required profile

• Degree in Early Childhood Teaching recognised by the Australian Children's Education and Care Authority (mandatory), or an approved Diploma in Children's Services; candidates studying toward their teaching degree with suitable experience will be considered.
• Child protection qualification.
• Current First Aid certificate, Anaphylaxis and Asthma management training, and a valid Working with Children Check.
• Ability to undertake the physical demands of an early childhood setting.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the physical, emotional, cognitive, social and cultural development of children.
• Ability to engage children through age-appropriate activities and to communicate with children, families and staff.
• Interest in additional needs and challenging behaviours.
• Understanding of the National Quality Framework (NQF) and the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
• Understanding of child protection, mandatory reporting, workplace health and safety and ongoing professional development.
