Early Childhood Road Safety Education Consultant

About the role

The Kids and Traffic Early Childhood Road Safety Education Program is seeking a consultant to deliver professional development, provide expert advice, and support education and care services across NSW. This fixed‑term role runs from February 2027 to December 2027 and combines early childhood expertise with adult learning and community engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, deliver and coordinate professional development workshops for early childhood services and tertiary providers.
• Provide tailored road safety education support, leadership and expert advice to the sector.
• Build and maintain relationships with educators, service leaders and community stakeholders.
• Lead community‑based projects addressing local road safety issues.
• Contribute to resource development, program initiatives and team projects.
• Support the administration and stakeholder engagement activities of the Kids and Traffic Program.

Required profile

• Four‑year Early Childhood Education degree or equivalent ACECQA‑approved teaching qualification.
• Demonstrated success in teaching and leading programs in early childhood education and care services.
• Strong understanding of diverse early childhood settings and current sector influences.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Experience initiating and implementing projects with minimal supervision.
• Current unrestricted NSW driver licence and ability to travel throughout Greater Sydney and regional NSW.
• Current Working with Children Check and willingness to undergo medical, demerit point and police checks.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications.
• Ability to use digital technology to support teaching and learning.
