Duty Manager – Hotel Operations

About the role

The Duty Manager leads the front‑office team to deliver memorable guest experiences across all hotel operations. You will act as the first point of contact for guests, staff, and emergency situations, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, productivity, and service.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily hotel operations from the front office, managing guest complaints, queries and suggestions.
• Lead and motivate the team to achieve authentic, memorable guest experiences.
• Prioritise workload, ensuring smooth service delivery during morning, night, weekend and holiday shifts.
• Develop team skills and performance to positively impact hotel results.
• Serve as the primary responder for critical emergencies and crisis situations.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in front‑desk or guest‑service leadership.
• Valid First Aid certification, Responsible Service of Alcohol and Responsible Person's Badge.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving and motivational abilities.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Full Australian working rights.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hotel property management systems, preferably Opera PMS.
