Duty Manager - High Volume Bars and Restaurants

About the role

Story Bridge Hotel, which has been part of the Brisbane hospitality scene for many years and has been owned and operated by the Deery family since 1967, is hiring an experienced Duty Manager. The hotel consists of two dining locations, four bar areas, gaming, TAB and function rooms, and operates seven days a week with breakfast, lunch and dinner until late. The role suits someone with strong expertise in high-volume bars and very busy restaurants, with gaming experience and high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of the venue and ensure outstanding customer service.
• Allocate work and supervise employees across all frontline areas.
• Maintain and comply with safety, stock and equipment procedures.
• Manage staff and patrons, and handle customer enquiries and complaints.
• Oversee the implementation of RSA and RSG practices.
• Enforce and advocate the hotel's policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Experience managing staff and leading a team.
• Passion for service and food and beverage.
• Sound knowledge of the hotel industry and hospitality trends.
• Able to mentor and develop potential leaders and foster growth and professionalism.
• Ability to create, implement and monitor operational systems and procedures.
• Strong communication skills and professionalism.
• Current RSA, RSG and TAB qualifications.
• A can-do attitude.
