Dual Trade Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Dual Trade Engineer to join our Australian manufacturing team on a permanent, full‑time basis. The role involves maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production equipment during night shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, operate, fault‑find and repair mechanical and electrical manufacturing equipment.
• Install, set up, relocate, modify and test new equipment.
• Coach and mentor production staff on fault identification and troubleshooting.
• Respond to breakdowns, prioritize work with the shift supervisor, and perform preventative maintenance.
• Conduct equipment audits and proactively reduce downtime, waste and improve reliability.
• Support maintenance and improvement projects.
• Record breakdowns and preventive‑maintenance completions in the CMMS MEX system.

Required profile

• Mechanical trade (fitter) certificate with a current electrical licence (essential).
• Previous experience in a similar maintenance role within a manufacturing environment, preferably GMP‑regulated.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing machinery, reliability systems and engineering standards.
• Excellent fault‑finding and troubleshooting abilities for both mechanical and electrical systems.
• Effective communication skills to liaise with production teams, other departments and external contractors.
