Dual Registered Nurse / Registered Midwife – Maternity

About the role

MARS Recruitment is seeking an experienced dual Registered Nurse / Registered Midwife for contract opportunities in Central Queensland, supporting women and babies across the maternity journey in a regional service. The advertised position is based in Gladstone.

Key responsibilities

• Provide antenatal, labour, birth and postnatal care
• Undertake maternity assessments, monitoring and clinical escalation
• Support newborn care and emergency response within your scope

Required profile

• Current registration as both a Registered Nurse and a Registered Midwife, with current AHPRA registration and Australian work rights
• Maternity, advanced neonatal resuscitation, antenatal/postnatal and birth suite experience
• Agreement to an eight-hour shift break for the supplied vacancy
• 76 hours per fortnight, on-call required

Required skills

• Strong communication, clinical assessment and teamwork skills
• Dual RN and RM registration

What we offer

• $73 per hour basic rate for ordinary rostered hours, up to $246 per hour on eligible shifts or overtime
• Higher pay for weekday afternoons, weeknights, weekends and public holidays, plus penalties
• Travel assistance and accommodation, subject to contract arrangements
• On-call allowances, meal, laundry and broken-shift allowances, and a qualification allowance of +3.5% where applicable
• Referral and contract completion bonuses, and Christmas Eve public holiday pay at 250% where applicable
• Compliance and onboarding support, plus a dedicated consultant for the placement
