Diverse Learning Officer

About the role

St Mary's Catholic College in Woree, Queensland, is looking for a Diverse Learning Officer to provide pastoral and learning support to students and to assist teachers and students in the school learning environment. The role works under the direction of teaching staff and supports students with a range of diverse needs, including those with cognitive, sensory and physical needs and those for whom English is an additional language. The college encourages First Nations applicants.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain appropriate behaviour when engaging with children
• Work in classrooms with teachers, supporting students
• Help students engage in learning and assessment as directed by the classroom teacher
• Liaise with teachers to track student progress and well-being
• Support students with diverse needs, including mobility-impaired students
• Help coordinate and promote cultural education events, activities and programs
• Operate audio-visual aids, duplicate and issue learning materials and carry out clerical duties

• Term-time permanent position (31 hours) at School Officer Level 3, $34.17 to $35.62 gross per hour plus 12.75% superannuation
