Director – Well Integrity (Regulatory Leadership)

About the role

The Director – Well Integrity will provide strategic and technical leadership for well integrity across Australia’s offshore energy sector. Based in Perth, this senior position shapes risk‑based regulatory outcomes and supports organisational transformation within NOPSEMA.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team delivering regulatory outcomes, including assessment of well‑related submissions, inspections and incident investigations.
• Ensure regulatory decisions are consistent, defensible and aligned with NOPSEMA’s risk‑based framework.
• Provide specialist technical advice on well integrity and well operations to internal decision‑makers and external stakeholders.
• Integrate well integrity considerations across the offshore energy lifecycle, including decommissioning and late‑life asset management.
• Develop and improve procedures, guidance and regulatory tools to support effective decision‑making.
• Build and maintain relationships with industry title‑holders, other government agencies and internal stakeholders.
• Lead staff capability development, ensuring high performance and timely delivery of quality regulatory outcomes.
